Ruth Malkin I am a local disabled person and I got involved with Trafford CIL in its early days, becoming a board member for the steering group that set the organisation up. I am fully committed to the twin aims of the organisation to be a user led service and to support all people who experience barriers to inclusion to live independently in the community. I am currently the Trafford Deaf Support Broker. I work with deaf individuals to obtain access to services that exist for people in Trafford. I also support local grass roots organisations of deaf people. I have helped Trafford Hard of Hearing Group fund raise for lip reading classes and recruit a volunteer. I have helped Trafford Blind and Deaf Social Group to develop a strategy to recruit new members. I am an accredited Access Consultant and I have campaigned to remove access barriers.
